Is FSGS Curable

I got a call from Canada asking about whether his FSGS can be cured or not. Here are my answers for anyone who is troubled with the same problem.
If you get FSGS from hereditary gene, in other words, your father or mother who suffer from it, there is no cure for you theoretically. Not with western medicine, Chinese medicine or other therapies. Even kidney transplant is not a cure, contrary to popular belief.
However, it doesn’t mean you can’t do anything for yourself. What you need is to choose a right therapy as soon as possible, in which way you can slow down its progress and even make it never relapse again.
If you are diagnosed without familial factors, whether you can be cured depends on your own condition.
If you are in the very early stage of FSGS, surely you have a great possibility in recovering from it. Most discomforts induced by FSGS can be stopped if caught early enough. And I have to remind you that it is the best time to adopt right treatment, so don’t just let it go for you haven’t feel too much discomforts. In most cases, FSGS just plays a role as “silent killer”—it is damaging your renal function, even though it shows no obvious symptoms. If you are entering the middle stage or even end stage of FSGS, it is basically impossible for you being cured. In such stages, your renal function has already reduced in a marked degree. Once your renal function is lost, it is hard to call it back.
